Domestic abuse is present within our communities, including our churches.
Many who experience it suffer in silence, unsure if they will be believed, supported, or safe. Churches are often the first place people disclose, yet many leaders feel unprepared to respond safely and wisely.
After the Night exists to help bridge that gap — equipping churches to respond in ways that reflect the heart of Christ: truthfully, compassionately, and responsibly.
Walking in STEP, we offer:
Support groups
for those impacted by Domestic Abuse and referrals as appropriate
Training workshops
for pastoral and ministry leaders, in trauma-informed and abuse-informed care and response
Education events
and speaking events that are tailored to audiences including, but not limited to, congregations and ministries to help recognize and prevent domestic abuse
Prayer support
and intercession – for individuals and through a prayer network in the Church
Those who disclose are believed. Not blamed.
Our goal is to help break the cycle of abuse across generations.
